Why I started Japanese cookery lessons
I was born and raised in Hikone, a city in western Japan. My mother is a talented cook, and she taught me many home cooking techniques. In 2010, my British husband and I moved to Wotton Under Edge, where we lived until 2021, when we moved to Nailsworth.
In 2018, my husband’s medical issues prompted me to re-evaluate our diet. I began to revisit the cooking style and dishes that my mother had taught me, which are based on traditional Japanese cuisine. I also started learning about nutrition and the effect of a balanced diet.
I soon realised that a traditional Japanese meal covers a whole range of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that are essential for healthy living.
I am pleased to say that my husband fully recovered and is now once again fit and healthy.
Authenticity
I have been cooking Japanese food for many years, and I have learned a lot about the different ingredients, techniques, and flavors that make Japanese cuisine so unique. I am happy to share my knowledge and expertise with you, and I am confident that you can learn to cook delicious and authentic Japanese food in your own home.
