My wife and I had a great time in this sushi class, learning to put together a number of nigiri and maki dishes. The yellow tail tuna with Shiso and ginger might be my fave. The homemade miso soup and yuzu cheesecakes were great additions to the food experience. From start to finish we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The atmosphere at her home was incredibly friendly and calm, making it the perfect space to learn and enjoy the experience. We made the broth from scratch, which we could tailor to our spice preferences. We were amazed by how simple the process was and how tasty the ramen turned out, better than many we’ve had elsewhere! We left feeling confident that we could recreate it at home, and we really appreciated that she shared her recipe with us too. We would absolutely recommend this class to anyone who loves food, enjoys cooking, or just wants a relaxing, rewarding way to spend a few hours. We did the gyoza course with two extra dishes and it was lots of fun and informative. The food we ate at the end was very authentic and tasty. We had a wonderful evening making sushi rolls with Kazuko at her beautiful house in Nailsworth. She was an excellent teacher and delightful company. We had told her in advance that we were particularly fond of prawn tempura rolls. We arrived to find that she had devised a perfect recipe for them, despite never having eaten one in her life. Kazuko is extremely welcoming and very friendly, she makes learning the craft of Japanese culinary skills extremely enjoyable! My partner and I attended the "miso 3 ways" class this weekend and found it fun & informative and we came away with some very tasty food. The small group size was perfect and the recipe card for re-creating the recipes at home is a great addition. Myself and my husband spent a lovely and relaxing couple of hours with Kaz learning to make Miso Ramen. We learned lots about Japanese cooking ingredients, culture and the health benefits of different foods at the same time as creating a delicious meal. We ate our lunch with the beautiful view from Kaz’s home, which was made even more lovely by Kaz’s cheesecake!
